The Unity Roots Beating Homelessness project through Creativity is in partnership with Church Homeless Trust, Riverside and The Quays. It was set up in 2018 to support people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
It is a music and arts therapy project designed to help and support some of the most vulnerable people in our society by running workshops and personal development courses with the focus on music and the creative arts.
The project is set in its own music studio / room where we run a number of different activities including a 12-week music programme that focuses on learning to play live instruments, singing,
song-writing and recording. A film making / drama course and band development programme.
During 2020 we will open as a recording studio but can already offer music / arts workshops to outside organisations as well as the participants we currently work with from The Quays.
Contact Steve (Project Manager) at email@example.com to book a workshop, courses or project for your organisation.
The vision for the project within The Quays is to set up a music, arts and film project aimed at introducing training and rehabilitation through professional music, arts and film.
The project will become a vital educational and inspirational service at The Quays as well as offering outreach services, social enterprise community projects and services to the public which participants will run after training.
Projects at The Quays will run from a purpose built recording studio / workshop room within the Quays.
From here we will introduce accredited, non-accredited short and long term personal development music or film workshops, projects (both group and personal), artist development programmes, creative social enterprise opportunities that participants can access either voluntarily, through apprenticeship or work experience style placements, community projects, fundraising activities for special causes and of course workshops just for fun.
